My Cousin, My Buddy, My Friend,
Always there for me with a smile and a grin Checking up on me each
day on the phone,
Making sure I was safe at my home. "Did I tell you this one
?" He would say.
As he told me his jokes of the day. Talking of all the things we were
going to do
Of cookouts and races and county fairs too. We will have time for us to have fun
I heard him say,Next summer for
sure we will find a way.
I will teach you to use your camera,
you just wait and see. Soon you
will take pictures as good as me. I laughed at this because no
one could take pictures as good as Mike.
Heaven has been given a wonderful person and he will make God's world so much more beautiful  Mike could see beauty where no one
else could. He could look at a
tree and see something in that tree that our eyes could not. He would
take a picture and the tree would be a thing of glory. He would take a
picture of a sunset and show the true beauty that we often miss.
Everything stood still for him and
his camera be it a race car or a
running deer, the world stopped for his talent as he filmed the grace
and wonder of the world as he saw it.
I will miss you dear one, each and
everyday you will be inside my heart
and I am so very lucky to have had you as part of my family for as long
as God permitted you to be. I love you.
Most people have seen hundreds of
his racing photos, but few have seen the beauty he found around him.
Here I am showing a tiny bit of that beauty and his world through his
camera.
